Biography

Darrien was infected with the Techno-bug in 1995, when he first heard Laurent Garnier playing a twelve-hour set at the ‘Stufenbau’. The functionality of this music and the fact that it was so different from the rest of the nineties rave-music fascinated him immediately and eventually captured his heart. He began mixing this particular style the same year. First mixes were followed by first mixtapes, which led to first bookings and things took off from there.

In the meantime Darrien has collected quite a stock of minimalisitc functional tracks and driving rhythms, expanding this particular style and making it his own. By doing more than simply placing one track after another, but a selective sampling of Minimal, Techno and Tech-House, and through his exceptionally creative dj-skills, he has made a name for himself. Next to various bookings all over Switzerland and neighbouring countries, he has even been a resident of the renowned ‘Rohstofflager’ in Zurich since 2006 until it had to give way for a new building project after 13 years of existence.

Currently Darrien is playing at clubs in Zürich and other well known locations all around Switzerland, known for his extraordinary mixing skills and having his latest EP released in December 2012 on Stahlplatten Records.
